Adobe Acrobat 8.1.2

Adobe released Acrobat 8.1.2. As of right now it seems this update is only available via the Adobe software update utility. Updateing Acrobat to full Leopard compatibility. I am now prepared to update our classroom iMacs to 10.5. Adobe Acrobat training. Update: You can now download the updaters for both Mac and Win.

Surprise from Apple

I have been unpacking Macs for the last few days here at work. We now have a new traveling Mac laptop classroom capable of running Final Cut Studio 2. We also purchased new iMacs for Chicago. I was cloning the iMacs, when I found a nice little surprise from apple, a test disc. I am not really sure what it is used for it just contains a bunch of audio files, pictures after the jump.

Web 2.0 Expo April 15, 2007

Sterling and I are in San Francisco for O’Reilly’s Web 2.0 Expo at the Moscone West. I attended 2 workshops, Community Evangelism: Tools and Techniques featuring Deborah Schultz and Anil Dash and Introduction to Search Engine Optimization and Search Marketing workshop featuring Greg Boser and Todd Friesen. The first workshop was great but the second one was even better. These 2 search engine gurus rocked with this great Q&A session. For fun afterwards we went over to checkout Apple’s flagship San Francisco store. Pictures.

Snowy Day in Chicago

I am in Chicago setting up our Adobe training classrooms. It has been snowing all day. This is the first time I get to drive in so much snow, well really this is only the second time I drive in snow; the other time was in Atlanta. I have a friend that might remember that time, as I had to give him a ride to work. (zing intended) Just trying to keep warm and get home for company this weekend.

Sterling Ledet & Associates - San Diego

Back from sunny California, well sunny but chilly this trip. I set up our Adobe training San Diego classroom. It was a very productive weekend and I unboxed some shiny new iMacs which is always fun. Check out the pictures.

Mac in verbose mode (white text when booting up)

Setting up some iMacs today in our San Diego Adobe training office, and one of the macs was stuck in verbose mode. When it booted up I got this strange white text on the screen of the iMac. It was very strange to see a mac boot up "command line style" like a win-tel. After some serious googleing I found two commands you can enter in the terminal window to put your mac into or take it out of verbose mode.

To put your mac in verbose mode type

sudo nvram boot-args="-v"

in the terminal window

To take your mac out of verbose mode type

sudo nvram boot-args=””

in the terminal window

Sterling Ledet and Associates - DC

Spent the week in DC setting up our Washington DC Adobe, Apple, Quark training classrooms. Our classrooms are at 17th and I (eye as the natives call it) about two blocks from the White House. This is the first classroom we setup with intel iMacs and the “coolness factor” of the room is great. I set them up to dual boot OS X and Windows XP. They make for such a clean and uncluttered classroom nothing under the desk. Check out the pictures.
