More time with Windows Mobile 6 and Blackjack

Now that I have had the evening to play around with Windows Mobile 6 on my Samsung Blackjack I have a few impressions. First off the "My Location" feature now works with google maps, it took awhile the first time but it started working and has been working all evening. Second I am really excited about it now works with handsfree link in my RDX, I missed this feature as I had it with my razr in my TSX. Lastly the ability to search the company directory under contacts is kind of cool. I will not get a ton of use out of this as we are a small company, but in a large company I can see how this would be very useful. I have not tried them out yet but you do get the mobile office apps as well. All in all it is a pretty good free update.

Windows Mobile 6

About 7 months after the promised release by numerous at&t sales associates the Blackjack finally got Windows mobile 6. I upgraded my phone last night but really have not played with it much. You can get the download here.

Blackjack II

With at&t announcing the Blackjack II (press release) yesterday. I am starting to wonder if we will every see Windows mobile 6 on the Blackjack. The message board thread is now 891 one post long. Will at&t every listen to there customers? I never thought I would say this but I am starting to feel I had better service when it was Cingular.

Yahoo GO - Samsung Blackjack

Yahoo! GO has finally been released for the Samsung Blackjack. I installed it and have been playing around with it for a while. It is very cool the only draw back is it is a little slow, but that could be because it is still in beta. The email and Flickr widgets are the best thing about it the rest is ok but Windows live search has most of the other stuff beat. Now if at&t and Samsung would just hurry up with the Windows Mobile 6 update.

Samsung Blackjack

A couple of days ago I took the plunge and purchased a Samsung Blackjack. I was holding off on getting a pda phone, being an Apple fanboy I had my eye on the iPhone, however when I found out this first version did not support 3g I passed. I figure the next iPhone will support it and I can always upgrade then. I am very happy with the blackjack so far. I have had 2 days of pretty heavy use and the normal battery is just dwindling now, it also came with an extended battery but it is twice the size and makes the back bulge a bit. I only downloaded Google Maps for mobile and am waiting for yahoo to release the blackjack version of Yahoo Go. All in all it is a great little phone at a great price.
