iMac 2.8 Extreme Speed Test

Over the last couple of days I have been putting the new iMac to the test. I have ran several speed test below are the results.

Again specs:
2.8 Intel Extreme (X7900)
750GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (ST3750640AS)
4GB DDR2 SDRAM 667 MHz

First Test
Nightflight After Effects project in After Effect CS 3 (8.0.1) Time: 19 minutes 11 seconds

Second Test
retouchartists.com Photoshop speed test in Photoshop CS 3 (10.0) Time: 46secondss 12 milliseconds

Third Test
Xbench with a score of 137.64

For the next two test I used the project from the Apple Pro Training seris book “Final Cut Pro 6” by Diana Weynard. I used Project 5 Behaviors_v4_roll timeline. I did not do anything to this project. This is a 01:17;18 timeline composed of HDV 1080i60 footage with audio.

Forth Test
Export to DVD: Best Quality 150 mintues using Final Cut Pro 6.0.1 and Compressor 3.0.1 Time: 8 minutes 29 seconds 9 milliseconds

Fifth Test
Export H.264 for iPod video and iPhone 640x480 using Final Cut Pro 6.0.1 and Compressor 3.0.1 Time: 13 minutes 9 seconds 14 milliseconds
